April 26 - Halo: Combat Evolved (Xbox) - Exactly the opposite as Robocop! It plays well, it's entertaining, the story is fun. Titus's (Superman 64!) final ever game before bankruptcy, they really went out with a bang. It misses the mark on every single aspect: It's a bad Robocop game, it's a bad FPS, it's a bad GAME. April 23 - Robocop (Xbox) - The first Xbox game I've played since 50 Cent Bulletproof killed my old one back in November. It was kinda cool to play, being kind of a fan of Diabolik and all, but it wasn't a good game by any stretch. The puzzles tend to range from either very easy to outright nonsense (one 'puzzle' requires you to walk to the end of a train, then walk back to the beginning of the train, then walk to the end of train again). It definitely could have had a lot more character to it, and ends up just being kind of dry and lifeless in parts. Originally portrayed as a straight up villain, but being slowly changed into an anti-hero across the years. April 19 - Diabolik: The Original Sin (PS2) - Based on an old Italian comic from the 60s about a criminal man who robs people because it makes his girlfriend horny (yes really).

The scenes feel less repetitive and full of much more personality this time around. Every character had to say something in a scene, but every character just said the same thing. It also improves on the dialogue a little, which I felt tend to drag on in the first game. It does improve on things a little bit, having a much much larger game world and a more non-linear mid game. April 18 - Golden Sun: The Lost Age (GBA) - More of the same game as the first Golden Sun, understandably, being released so close together. Highly recommended as something you need to just experience ONCE in your life. disaster? The game just meanders from beginning to end, seeming to serve no real purpose before it just stops. April 15 - Michigan: Report From Hell (PS2) - I have absolutely NO idea what the goddamn this was. And just well made all around, for what bits were finished.

Plays very well, was a landmark title for the PS2 that helped get it out of that first year slump.

Kojima at kind of peak weirdness he would never really hit again, with something that was intentionally a fourth wall breaking jab at games, the player, and the repetitive nature of sequels in general. April 12 - Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2) - A wonderful mess. I found the game to be overly unforgiving to mistakes (you play perfectly or get a game over. Sadly, I'm seriously not a fan of old games like this, and especially FMV.

April 11 - Tomcat Alley (PC) - Ended up playing the higher res Windows version! It looked quite nice. Played it on PS2 because my multiple attempts at playing it on Xbox ended in a game breaking glitch and disaster. The game plays great, and the whole design style where you're given sandbox arenas designed to allow you to use your psi powers flexibly to get through works extremely well.
